'ROCK for Revival' is an event taking place at St John's Church, Ben Rhydding on Saturday, November 18.

With music from the band Route 65, it will be a fund-raising evening to provide starter kits for the children of the Revival School in Matugga Uganda. The Revival School is a charity St John's has supported since its foundation over 20 years ago.

Doors open at St John's from 6pm when tea and coffee will be available in the hall, along with information and and a slide show about the work of the school.

From 7pm there will be a cash bar serving wine and beer, a raffle and, from 7.15pm in the main building, a mix of mainly 60s and 70s pop and rock from local band Route 65 until 10pm.

Local band Route 65 have been playing pop and rock and roll classics to raise money for charity for since just before lockdown.

“As we all live in or around the A65 Ilkley and Menston area there was no problem finding a name,” says guitarist Andy Copsey. “This Saturday we want to raise as much as possible for the school in Matugga, as well as celebrating St John's recent refurbishment and the new open space now available for such occasions.”

Tickets costing £10 each will be available on the door and children are free.
