A COFFEE morning organised by Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers from Burley-in-Wharfedale to raise money to help save Waddow Hall activity centre was a great success.
The event was on Saturday, November 4, at Burley Scout & Guide Headquarters.
Sue Vint, leader of 1st Burley-in-Wharfedale Guides said: "It was heaving with local Burley people, past guiding members, their families and guiding units from as far away as Wyke in Bradford. On the day we took a whopping £1,100 for the Waddow Hall trust - the hopeful new owners of Waddow Hall. In addition we have had generous donations from various places so the total has risen to about £1600. Absolutely fantastic, I'm blown away by it. Money is still coming in so hopefully the total will rise!"
Waddow Hall in Clitheroe, currently belongs to Girlguiding but they are selling the centre at the end of the year. A Trust has been formed to buy Waddow Hall, to which the money will be donated.
