BURLEY Theatre Group will be staging the Dickens classic – the ever popular ‘A Christmas Carol’ directed by Lisa Jones-Tinsley.

First published in 1843, it tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser visited by his deceased business partner Jacob Marley, along with 3 spooky spirits – Past, Present and Future. They each deliver a ghostly message to show Scrooge the error of his ways.

Adapted by Michael Marrone, the play holds true to the original novella. The miserly Scrooge is depicted by well-known local actor and ‘baddie’ John Wise and Bob Cratchit is played by Michael Scott, his debut performance with the group (both pictured).

With a wonderful cast of 27, including 15 younger actors, Burley’s production is a truly captivating play featuring harmonious singing, live music and dancing. This atmospheric and evocative production will have you laughing, crying and everything in between.

A Christmas show to remember, performances are at the Queen’s Hall, Burley-in-Wharfedale on Thursday, December 21st and Friday, December 22nd at 7:30pm and two shows on Saturday, December 23rd at 12pm and 5:30pm.
