DalesBus services from Ilkley will be improved this winter, with two weekend bus services that previously only operated during the summer months extended to continue on a trial basis throughout the winter.

In response to increasing demand Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company, the volunteer-run organisation which manages the weekend DalesBus network, is trialling winter buses on Saturdays to Grassington and on Sundays to Malham to help improve sustainable access to the National Park.

DalesBus 74 will continue running every Saturday from Ilkley Bus Station at 1015, 1215 and 1545 to Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington. Buses return from Grassington at 1120, 1450 and 1700, and from Bolton Abbey at 1145, 1515 and 1725. Full details of the times and stops are available online at www.dalesbus.org/74. On Sundays DalesBus 874 will continue running to Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Grassington, Kettlewell and Buckden, leaving Ilkley at 1015 and 1410, returning from Buckden at 1225 and 1625 and Grassington at 1300 and 1700.

Cravenlink 864 will continue running every Sunday from Ilkley Bus Station at 1015 to Skipton, Gargrave and Malham, returning from Malham at 1640. Buses will also continue running throughout the day on Sundays between Ilkley and Skipton on routes 864 via Draughton and 873 via Bolton Abbey, Barden Moor and Embsay.

As part of the national initiative to reduce the cost of bus travel the maximum single fare on all these services is just £2, and under 19s travel for £1. Elderly and disabled bus passes are also valid for free travel.

Full details of the times and stops are available online at www.dalesbus.org. Timetable leaflets are available from Ilkley Visitor Information Centre and Ilkley Railway Station.

Sunday DalesBus services 875 and 876 to Hawes have now finished for the winter.
