FOR the second year running Aireborough Rotary is organising a Best Halloween Window Display Competition in Horsforth.

Shops and businesses on all the major streets including Town Street, New Road Side, Station Road, Fink Hill and Low Lane have been approached to take part. All have been asked to have their displays completed by October 26 with the judging to take place the following weekend.

There will be prizes of £30, £20 and £10 with certificates for the best displays, plus Highly Commended. All involved will be contributing £5 to enter which, as last year, will be donated to the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Appeal. Last year the competition raised the exceptional sum of £1,154.

A rotary spokesperson said: "With schools soon to be on a half term break this is a great opportunity for families to visit your local shops and businesses, enjoy the creativeness and spookiness abounding and decide for yourself which deserve the prizes. A map showing all the participants will be available adding £1 to the appeal from Marples on Town Street and the Honey Pottery on New Road Side from 23 October. Don’t miss the fun!"
