BURLEY-in-Wharfedale Christmas Light’s display will be officially switched on Saturday, December 2 at 4.30pm.

The afternoon will be filled with a variety of events including a Christmas market, craft fair, singers, activities for children and of course a visit from Santa.

A spokesperson said: "If you’ve been before you’ll know what a spectacular event this is and if you haven’t, make a note in your diary now to come and have the most enjoyable afternoon culminating in the best Christmas Light display for miles around.

"Of course, this means the work involved in putting on such a display has already started. The display is put up by Tom Sumner and his team of volunteers, you will see them hard at work between now and the switch on day.

"This week is the first working Saturday (October 21st), if you have some free time and want to be involved please meet at the bottom of Station Road anytime from 9am onwards.

"This is a great community effort and there are a variety of jobs for everyone to pitch in with, new faces are always welcome."

If you have any questions, call Tom Sumner on 07932 791583.
