EATONS Funeral Directors in Ilkley are offering a car wash service to raise money for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.

Running from 10am to 5pm on Friday, October 13, the special event will raise crucial funds for the hospice which provides expert palliative care and support to people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

The car wash is being held by Eatons, the funeral directors on Ashland Road, LS29 8JT. For just £5 a car the team will leave customers with a gleaming vehicle and the knowledge that all money raised will be directly contributing to the vital work of Sue Ryder.

Chris Matthews, Manager at Eatons Funeral Director said: “We at Eatons Funeral Directors in Ilkley are tired of washing our own cars and would like to have a bit of variety so we thought why not try and raise some money for Sue Ryder in the process.

“I have worked as the funeral director here at Eatons in Ilkley for almost seven years now looking after my local community.

“I am very proud of what I do and dare I say enjoy it very much as I earn great satisfaction from helping others which is partly the reason why myself and the larger team here have decided to do this event. We see first-hand the important work that Sue Ryder does and we just want to give something back. We are all poised with our buckets and sponges and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Friday 13 October to raise as much as we can for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.”

Adam Brunskill, Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice said: “I would like to extend a huge thank you everyone at Eatons Funeral Directors of Ilkley for choosing to support Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice with the car wash event. The money that is raised will mean that that our care teams can continue to provide more care to more people.”
