OTLEY-based recruitment services provider Blue Octopus has picked up the Technical Innovation award at the Onrec Awards 2023 for their next-generation recruitment and onboarding platform.

The national awards, now in their 17th year, celebrate achievement and innovation in the recruitment industry. Blue Octopus first won an Onrec award in 2013, just three years after the company was founded by local brothers Chris and Liam Coleman.

The Technical Innovation award recognises Octo Platinum, Blue Octopus’ self-developed recruitment and onboarding platform. The software allows users to control their entire recruitment process, from sourcing candidates for their vacancies, to arranging interviews, making offers, and onboarding new hires. Octo Platinum integrates with dozens of job boards and HR systems, and is used by companies across the UK, including large household names.

Chris Coleman, Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director, said: “We have always been certain of the flexibility, versatility, and technical innovation of our Octo Platinum recruitment software, so we are honoured to now be able to call it award-winning.

“We were up against some very strong competition across all categories at this year’s awards, so it’s a credit to the work that the entire Blue Octopus team have put into the development, launch, and implementation of Octo Platinum that we have come away with the Technical Innovation award. We are celebrating this for now but will very soon be back to working hard to continuously improve in all we do.”

The awards took place on Thursday 14th September at the Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s.
