MOORFIELD School and Nursery in Ilkley has started the new academic year by welcoming a new member of teaching staff, Mr Chris O’Doherty.
Chris is a specialist maths and sports teacher and former deputy head at Westville House School, Ilkley. Alongside his normal teaching role, Chris has also had outstanding success in tutoring gifted children in GCSE maths with several Year 6 children achieving Grade 5 in their foundation exam.
Chris, who has joined Moorfield School and Nursery as a Year 6 teacher said: “I am looking forward to being part of a school with such an outstanding academic reputation, excellent pastoral record and inspiring creative arts curriculum. I am particularly excited about working with Mr Chris Herbert, computer scientist, on the excellent STEM curriculum which has been developed at the school.”
