YEADON Air Cadets will be on parade on Sunday (September 17) at Yeadon Methodist Church to celebrate Battle of Britain Sunday.
With Yeadon's historic links with the RAF during the second world war, this event has particular local significance.
The Air Cadets will be on parade from 9.30am, the church service begins at 10am followed at 11am by an Act of Remembrance at the war memorial outside the church (near the Town Hall).
Yeadon Methodist minister, the Rev Roger Smith, said: "We are delighted that the Air Cadets are coming to commemorate this pivotal moment in the history of this country. All are most welcome to join with us in church and outside."
The Battle of Britain took place between July and October 1940 when the Royal Air Force successfully defended the United Kingdom from Nazi Germany's Luftwaffe. It was the first major battle fought entirely in the air.
