HIGH Speed Training, a leading online training provider based in Ilkley, has placed sixth in the Best Companies to Work for in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

Founded in 2008, the Yorkshire-based company delivers more than 180 specialist courses for the professional services, hospitality, food manufacture, logistics, education, construction, and health and social care sectors, as well as covering topics including health and safety, food hygiene, safeguarding, personal development and core skills.

High Speed Training, who have supported over 2.5 million learners, are a registered B Corp, a certification from global non-profit B Lab, which ensures that businesses meet high standards of social and environmental impact, focusing on a company’s approach to its governance, customers, environment and communities.

In 2023, High Speed Training became an Employee Owned Trust, and is now wholly owned by its employees, enabling staff to have a financial and directional say in how the business operates.

Carole Urey, CEO at High Speed Training, who spoke at the Best Companies Live event in August about the importance of leading with purpose, said: “The whole team here at High Speed Training are proud to place so highly in the latest Best Companies results. We’re committed to ensuring that our staff have the best possible experiences at work, and that's reflected in our values; we are all learners too, we are building our company together, we are a team beyond the four walls of an office, and that we leave things better than we found them.

“The last few years have created a major shift in how we, and countless other businesses, have to operate. The team here have adapted to these changes magnificently and have worked so hard to make this a great place to work.

“Our staff and customers are at the heart of what we do, and this recognition is testament to the culture of teamwork and care that we have been able to create here at High Speed Training.”

These recent successes improved on the company's results in 2022’s awards, where they finished 39th in the Best Small Companies to work for in the UK, and 18th and fourth respectively in the Yorkshire & Humber region and the Education sector.

Best Companies was launched in 2001, and its Best Companies to Work For Lists and Best Companies Accreditation are now recognised as the standard in workplace engagement.
