THE first talk of the new season at Rawdon Library will be on Tuesday, September 12th, entitled ‘Exploring Art’.

A spokesperson for Rawdon Library said: "Amanda Phillips, Learning & Access Officer at Leeds Art Gallery, will be talking to us - this talk had to be postponed at the last minute when Amanda was required to show King Charles round the gallery last year, so we are delighted to welcome her at last!

"Amanda will talk about the role and purpose of a dedicated person responsible for participation in an art gallery, and in an interactive manner engage all in a taste of 'Being An Art Detective', which is her most popular workshop. She articulates at the same time a strategy for thinking and talking about art.

"The talk takes place at 2pm in Rawdon Community Library, Micklefield Park, New Road Side, Rawdon LS19 6DD. Tickets are £5 (students £3) and are available in advance from the library or on the door. We have a ramp at the door and accessible toilets."
