THE annual Heartbeat Rally, which was held at Goathland on July 1 and 2, attracts former cast members as well as owners of the famous Heartbeat cars.
Three of the current owners decided to return home via other key filming locations and rolled up unannounced at Otley Courthouse - which stood in as Ashfordly Police Station and Courthouse in the long-running ITV series. After a tour of the building was hastily arranged the drivers were serenaded by an impromptu rendition of the Heartbeat theme by the Courthouse Choir.
Lee Jones, the rally organiser said: "It's the first time the cars have been back on the set for over 20 years - they are delighted to be home."
