MENSTON Primary School held a FUNdraising Day on Tuesday organised by the KS1 staff, with the original idea coming from Debbie Baker (phase leader).

They raised £2,855 for Motor Neurone Disease (inspired by the Rob Burrows Marathon) KS1 children (Year 1 and 2) and their families took part in the full day event which included every child and some parents running one mile on the school's running track, outdoor games including a penalty shoot out, a camp fire, paddling pools and tents, arts and crafts, den building in school woodland, a cake sale and the auctioning a signed Leeds Rhinos rugby ball.

A spokesperson said: "The children and families had a fantastic day. The children, families and school staff all came together to raise money for this important cause and we are so proud of our school community. Our school motto is 'Making our world a better place' and we certainly feel that we have done that with our FUNdraising Day."
