On Saturday, May 20, the award winning Cantare Singers from Northampton will be performing at Guiseley Methodist Church.

This is in aid of the continuing work at Norwood Chapel and Retreat Centre.

The Cantare Singers are a four-part, male and female choir based in Northampton who perform at various venues throughout the country. Formed more than 50 years ago, the group numbers around 50 and sings for pleasure and to give pleasure to others, raising many thousands of pounds for good causes in the process.

Their repertoire ranges from light Opera and Gilbert and Sullivan, through traditional songs to numbers by Elton John, The Carpenters and Sting.

They love to perform "songs from the shows", from Rogers and Hammerstein favourites, through West Side Story, Oliver, Paint Your Wagon, Camelot and many more, to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins. No music catalogue would be complete without music from Andrew Lloyd Webber, and they also feature music from The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Joseph amongst others.

The concert is being held in the afternoon at 2.30 pm, lasting approximately two hours and tickets for this are priced at £10 each. These are available from Christchurch Café, Ilkley; The Bookshop, Market Place, Otley; via Eventbrite - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-afternoon-with-the-cantare-singers-tickets-549078256847 or by post from 76 The Whartons, Otley, LS21 2BS with cheques payable to Wharfedale & Aireborough Methodist Circuit.

Refreshments will be served during the interval of the concert for those attending.
