HISTORY enthusiasts and curious locals are invited to join local historian Mike Dixon for a free, hour-long tour of Ilkley Manor House.
The tour will take place on Saturday, April 8th at 11 am. It will give attendees a unique opportunity to learn more about the building's fascinating origins and development. Participants will discover the many remarkable features of the building, from the cross-passage and buttery to the massive fireplace and oriel bay.
They will also have the opportunity to see the impressive medieval hall and entrance to a possible minstrels' gallery, which includes massive timbers supporting the roof. The tour is free and open to the public, and there is no need to book in advance.
The Manor House relies entirely on donations, so any contributions are welcome to help support the continued preservation and maintenance of the building. Ilkley Manor House is a significant local landmark and essential to the community's cultural heritage.
