FELL rescue was called out twice on Saturday afternoon - to an 'overdue' diver at Goyden Pot, Nidderdale, and to a teenager who had got stuck at Brimham Rocks.

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue received a call at just before 2pm about a diver that had been reported overdue in Goyden Pot.

As the team was mobilising a second call was received to assist with a 'crag fast' - or stuck - 13 year old at Brimham Rocks near Pateley Bridge.

A spokesperson for the Grassington based UWFRA said: "Team members on route to the first incident were diverted to this one as the team has much experience in assisting with incidents at Brimham Rocks and we would be quickly able to deal with this and move on.

"As the team were working at Brimham the controllers were working to call in specialist divers for the incident at Goyden, as this was happening, news was received that she had returned safely so we could stand down.

"Back at Brimham local members were able to calm the casualty until team vehicles arrived and a safe means of lowering the casualty back to the ground was rigged."
