WHATEVER the collective noun for scarecrows is, they have been making their presence felt in Otley as around 15 of the lovingly-made creations have taken up residence on the Bridge Church lawn.
All the scarecrows have been made by members and friends of the church.
They certainly seem to have caught the imagination of young and old alike as streams of people have been going into the church grounds for a closer look.
"They are also the subject of much comment on local social media sites," said John Eveleigh, church secretary.
This is the second year that the church has staged a scarecrow display and Rev Jason McCullagh, minister of the Bridge Church said: "We found last year that people came time and time again and it gave us a good opportunity to listen and talk with people."
Weather permitting the makers of the scarecrows are planning to keen them firmly in place until the end of the school holidays. Everyone is invited to go along and have a look if you are in the area.
