FIREFIGHTERS tackled a burning electricity pylon early this morning.
Crews were called out to the incident, at a spot between Silsden and Addingham, at around 1am.
They had to cross three fields to reach the pylon, off Turner Lane.
Firefighters from Keighley and Silsden attended together with Northern Powergrid engineers, who isolated the electricity supply so the fire could be dealt with safely.
A high-pressure water hose was used to extinguish the blaze.
Also in attendance was a specialist wildfire unit, based at Keighley, which tackles moorland fires and incidents at other remote locations.
Northern Powergrid believes the fire was caused by a nesting bird.
