A GROUP of doctors, nurses, and other medical staff from the public and voluntary health sectors have been nominated at the NHS Parliamentary Awards following their nomination by Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore. This included organisations from across the Wharfedale, Airedale and Craven Primary Care Network.

The group was set up to address the health inequalities in the areas and get communities fully involved in getting people the health care they need. They have an innovative way of working, which includes physical to visits to mosques, churches, colleges, community centres and shopping centres.

The awards, arranged by the NHS, are designed to recognise, and celebrate some of the biggest achievements in health and social care, with hundreds of MPs submitting nominations.

Mr Moore said: “I was delighted to see local groups such as Project 6 celebrated at the NHS Parliamentary Awards, and it was a real privilege to nominate them so we could showcase their efforts on the national stage.

I have seen first-hand the important work groups from the Airedale Craven Primary Care Network, as well as Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises do for people across our area. It was great to meet with them in Westminster.”
