OVER the next 12 months customers shopping at Booths in Ilkley will be able to donate spare change to local charity, Ilkley & District Good Neighbours, who will have collection buckets throughout the store. They can also scan a QR Code and donate online or read more about the work the charity or how to become involved as a volunteer.

Jim Verbeken, Store Manager of Booths in Ilkley said: “Every Booths store is able to partner with a local charity and I felt that the range of services Ilkley & District Good Neighbours provides for their clients, especially their Shop Assist programme, made them the perfect choice. We hope our customers will view this new working partnership as something really positive.”

Penny Coulthard, chair of Ilkley & District Good Neighbours added: “Founded in the 1970’s, Ilkley & District Good Neighbours operates a range of social and practical schemes aimed at improving the lives of older people in the area. Apart from Shop Assist its projects include Home and Garden Assist and its social support ranges from one to one Befriending to its Moving On Friendship group, which meets weekly in Ilkley at the Clarke Foley Centre. During the Covid pandemic the charity also played an important role in the community by working with the Ilkley Corona Response Group with volunteers providing support to individuals in need.”
