GUISELEY based photographer Lizzie Worley, who owns Luminosa Photography, won the Child Photographer of the Year award at the Newborn and Portrait show, Europe’s biggest family photography show on May 17, 2022.
Lizzie beat hundreds of other entries to walk away with this prestigious award. Lizzie’s portrait of Kasper called ‘Braveheart’ impressed the judges, with them commenting on how she captured a wonderful connection with the brave little boy who had had to undergo heart surgery as a tiny baby.
Lizzie said: “I am so proud of this photo and of my own photographic journey. I am a relative newcomer to the industry but I enter this competition every year because I just want to keep learning and to improve every time. I first photographed Kasper as a beautiful bump in his mummy’s tummy and then as a newborn. It was so lovely to later have him back in the studio after he had been through so much needing heart surgery at such a young age. He is a gorgeous and inspirational little boy and I can’t wait to gift this print to him and his lovely family.”
The Newborn and Portrait show is an annual event held at the Heart of England conference centre in Coventry.
