MARTIN Hyde who grew up in Ilkley and attended Sacred Heart and St Mary’s Schools has been recognised in the Resource Hot 100, a list of professionals leading in the recycling sector.

The list is compiled by the industry voting amongst itself. With big names such as David Attenborough (position 14) and Greta Thunberg (position 31). Martin came in at position 49.

Previously Martin worked in environmental consultancy Comply Direct based in Broughton Hall keeping customers up to date with changes in legislation and the resources industry.

Martin is now the Sustainability and Public Affairs Manager at Alupro the trade recycling organisation for the Aluminium packaging industry, having recently moved roles.

Martin has previously presented in Ilkley about the circular economy and led discussions with both students at Ilkley Grammar and Climate Action Ilkley. He is a local scout leader at 1st Ben Rhydding Scouts, and now lives in East Morton
