ILKLEY'S MP Robbie Moore met with Addingham Scouts to discuss the importance of local democracy and making a difference for the community. Mr Moore was joined by district councillor for the Craven Ward Rebecca Whitaker and Addingham Parish Councillor Catherine Coates, meaning three different levels of Government were present at the meeting.
The trio took questions about their different roles and how they work together in a number of areas.
The meeting was held as part of the scout's World Challenge Badge. Mr Moore said: “One of the best aspects of my job is being able to speak to our next generation of local leaders about my job and what the work entails. Groups like the Addingham Scouts do so much work to improve our community at a local level, and this is what politics is about as well.
"It was a pleasure to be joined by local councillors Rebecca Whitaker and Catherine Coates to explain how we work together to improve our community, and to support the Addingham Scouts in their efforts to earn their World Challenge Badge.”
