A 66-YEAR-old man has been made subject of a restraining order after making threats to kill another man in Burley-in-Wharfedale.

Ian Wadsworth, formerly of Burley-in-Wharfedale, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates on Wednesday, January 26, where he pleaded guilty to making threats to kill.

The charge relates to an incident on December 8 last year at West View Avenue, Burley-in-Wharfedale, when without lawful excuse he made a threat to kill a man, intending that the person would fear that the said threat would be carried out.

Magistrates imposed a community order and a restraining order was made for the defendant not to contact directly or indirectly the victim. This order lasts until January 25, 2023.

Wadsworth must also pay compensation of £250.

He pleaded guilty to a further charge of criminal damage to a White Skoda Fabia in West View Avenue, Burley-in-Wharfedale, on December 8, 2021, belonging to the same man.

Magistrates imposed a community order and the offender must comply with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

No separate penalty was imposed for a charge of failing to stop a vehicle at West View Avenue when required by an officer.
