IN December, Ilkley tapas restaurant, La Casita, pledged to donate the proceeds from three of its tapas dishes to three local charities. The restaurant supported Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Martin House Children’s Hospice and Feed Leeds Homeless Project.

“All three charities tirelessly support our local community in different ways so to give back and support them and the work they do feels good,” said co-founder Oliver Renton. “It’s no secret that December ended up being a tough month for the hospitality industry, so we’re chuffed to have raised £500 for three amazing causes.”

“Feed Leeds Homeless Project is a self-funded organisation that provides food, hot drinks, toiletries, and clothing to the less fortunate people of Leeds every Friday night. La Casita’s donation will help the team there feed so many more people this winter. We want to thank all of our customers for supporting our charity dish campaign in December, it’s definitely something we’ll look to do again in the future.”

La Casita was founded by chefs and entrepreneurs Simon Miller, Ben Riley and Oliver Renton in 2014. There are now three restaurants in Ilkley, Boston Spa and Skipton, offering a range of Andalusian Tapas with traditional wines and cocktails. In 2020, through the sale of their cookbook, the restaurant raised over £3,000 for charitable food redistributor FareShare.
