NATIONAL Grief Awareness Week will be marked in Guiseley with a series of events.
The Good Grief Guiseley Cafe is aiming to raise awareness of the support available, both nationally and locally, when a loved one dies.
Organiser Heather Cooper said: “We hope people will be able to join us at the Good Grief Cafe on 3rd December 2-4pm at Guiseley Theatre. This is a relaxed informal space where we can chat over tea and cake and be with others who understand. In an adjoining room we will be holding a small workshop led by Caroline from Yorkshire flower Academy, making seasonal floral decorations which could be kept at home or perhaps on a grave of a loved one. Whatever feels right for you. Places for this are limited to 12 and can be booked @guiseleytheatre.org/box office .There are no restrictions for the cafe- we will have enough cake for all!
“The well loved animated film, Coco is being shown at the family community Cinema at Guiseley Theatre on Sunday 5th December at 2pm.
“Join us on 8th December 5-8pm ,the final evening of NGAW21, for a short stroll around Guiseley looking at the lights, the crocheting, community benches before returning to the Theatre for 6pm to observe a minutes silence and watch the Theatre light up orange. Afterwards there will be warm drinks around the fire pit.”
