FORUM 2000 has added a meeting to its original programme which now extends to December 8, with Martin Hughes on The Saga of the Horsforth Weir.

It meets for its first talk-as opposed to the AGM the week before - on October 20 when Janet Niepokojczycka will give the talk cancelled in lockdown -Yorkshire Links. A spokeswoman for Forum 200 said: "Janet’s research in the archives has revealed just how far-reaching the influence of Yorkshire through the ages has been and also how Yorkshire has been influenced by outsiders. This is Janet’s fourth visit to Forum 2000 and casting your minds back to her talks on pack horses, Bonny Prince Charlie, woodlands you will realise that once again this will be different, original and above all entertaining. Booking for all sessions continues and closes on the Tuesday night before the talk. At the time of writing there are still 30 tickets left for Janet’s talk. People who turn up on the morning will probably get in but there is always a chance that they might be disappointed."

Forum 2000 meets each Wednesday(with social distancing and masks) at 10am in The Grove Centre, New Street, Horsforth . Everyone is welcome. Contact 2583521 or hm.taylor1@ntlworld.com.
