POLICE are appealing for information following a firearms discharge in Bradford last night.

The incident is believed to have happened at around 11pm yesterday at a property on Downside Crescent, Allerton.

Police were called at around 11.30pm, after damage was found to a window and patio door at the address.

No injuries were reported.

The damage has been found to be consistent with the discharge of a firearm and an investigation has been launched by West Yorkshire Police’s Firearms Prevent and Investigation Team to find those responsible.

The Firearms Prevent and Investigation Team is part of West Yorkshire Police’s Programme Precision response to tackling serious and organised crime.

Detective Chief Inspector Fiona Gaffney, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are in the early stages of investigating this incident, and I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at around 11pm yesterday (Wednesday).

“The discharge of a firearm in public is a serious matter and this incident is now the subject of a thorough investigation to identify those responsible.

“At this time, we are not linking it to the incidents in Wibsey from Tuesday, although our enquiries are ongoing.”

Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team have increased patrols in the area and are speaking to the local community.

Anyone with information which may assist the investigation is asked to contact the Firearms Prevent Team on 101, or via the West Yorkshire Police website.
