THE new headteacher of Immanuel College, Mr Sean Pickles, will be unveiling his vision for the future of the school at an open evening planned for prospective students, their parents, carers and families.

The evening will be held on Thursday, 30 September, and will run from 6pm to 8pm.

Immanuel College, based on Leeds Road in Idle, is one of 17 schools that forms the Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT).

The school welcomed Mr Pickles, who has been part of the Immanuel family for over ten years, after Mrs Jane Tiller retired as headteacher this year, following 16 years at the school, which was recognised by Ofsted as ‘good’ in 2019.

“As headteacher, my aim is that we continue evolving and making progress towards an 'outstanding' rating", said Mr Pickles.

"I am extremely lucky to work with such a fantastic team who are truly dedicated to the progress and wellbeing of each and every one of our students.

"Perseverance, character and hope remain the foundations of Immanuel College, and I shall continue to ensure the success of all of our students.

“I am very much looking forward to meeting all of our potential new students on 30 September. This is not only an opportunity to show them how incredible our school truly is, but also to tell them all of the brilliant things that we have planned for the future, and the ways we will be approaching topics like digital upskilling and mental wellbeing with all of our students.”

Carol Dewhurst OBE, CE of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Mr Sean Pickles as head at Immanuel.

"He has been a central part of the school leadership team over the last decade, supporting the school from strength to strength and is absolutely dedicated to ensuring the best opportunities and education for the Immanuel community.

"We wish him lots of luck and happiness in his new role and he will be supported by all of the team here at BDAT every step of the way.”
