A PROTEST will be held outside Menwith Hill to mark International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
Protestors will gather outside the base from 4pm on September 26.
The Nuke Free Europe network is coordinating a month of action to highlight the presence of nuclear weapons stationed across the continent. CND is encouraging action at nuclear sites across the UK on 26 September, the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
A spokesperson said: "This is an opportunity to highlight the government’s twisted priorities – increasing its number of nuclear warheads during a pandemic while refusing to pay nurses properly."
In Yorkshire, CND and the Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign are protesting outside both Fylingdales and Menwith Hill. The protest outside Menwith Hill will be socially distanced. Email mail@themhac.uk for more information.
The MHAC flyer says: "Achieving global nuclear disarmament is one of the oldest goals of the United Nations."
