OTLEY Players is proud to present ‘Pies for Pennies’ on September 11 outside Otley Courthouse.
It’s the year 1892 and on a bustling market day in Otley two sisters ‘Marge’ and ‘Mabel’ are arrested for vagrancy.
Taken to the courthouse by the overly keen and ambitious constable the two sisters have to prove their innocence.
After all they were only selling ‘Pies for a Penny.’
This short play, written by Otley Players, will be performed as part of the Otley’s Courthouse’s ‘Edible England’ National Heritage Open day on Saturday, September 11th at 11.40am and 1.20pm outside Otley Courthouse.
What fate beholds Marge and Mabel? Be there to find out!
Heritage Open Days, England’s largest festival of history and culture, runs from September 10 to 19, 2021.
Many events will explore this year’s theme, Edible England.
Learn about ‘Greed, guilt and gruel’ at Otley Courthouse on September 11 from 10am to 4pm.
