COMMUNITIES across Yorkshire will be marking Yorkshire Day this weekend.
In Ilkley the Yorkshire Declaration will be made outside the Town Hall at 11am on Sunday, August 1 by Ilkley’s Town Crier, Isabel Ashman.
Some plans have been put on hold because of the pandemic.
The Yorkshire Society said: "The fall out from the covid pandemic continues to hit our activities and plans, despite the recent lifting of restrictions. Our idea for a Yorkshire Festival received a warm welcome but will have to wait until next year, as will our Yorkshire Day Civic Celebration which was due to be held in York this year.
It added: "Keighley Town Council, who will be hosting Yorkshire Day's Civic Celebration in 2022, are getting into the spirit and have a good range of public activities this year, to which all Society members and supporters are welcome."
Church bells across the region will be ringing to mark the day.
