AN online charity auction is being staged as a tribute to the woman who began organising it before her death from pancreatic cancer.

Amy Firth initiated Under The Hammer For Manorlands last year to raise money for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, which had supported her.

She became too ill to see the event through to fruition, but it was one of Amy’s final wishes – before she lost her battle against cancer in October – that the auction should go ahead.

Now family and friends of Amy, who lived in Oxenhope, have picked-up the mantle and the event is taking place via Facebook.

Lots can be viewed at fb.me/e/1jaEBCdPP and bids are being accepted until 7pm on October 15.

Amy’s husband, Dave, said: “I’m hoping local residents and business owners will rally to support the auction and hospice – as many already have. We have loads of fantastic lots, from a stunning painting by local artist Kathryn Lycett to haircuts, flowers and even pony-trekking on the Isle of Mull!”
