IN reply to Frazer Irwin, of Ilkley, re: insects and wildlife. My garden is buzzing with insects and I have some bumblebees who nest in the wood below my roof every year.

If you manicure your garden insects have nothing to stay for.

Most plants in my garden have been planted by the birds I feed. Hedgehogs come to feed at night as do stray cats as I feed them and give them water.

Don't tidy your garden too much. Leave nature in charge and nature will provide if you help it.
