ILKLEY Youth and Community Association is running its fourth summer of fun in August for children aged four to 16.

Chairman of IYCA Martin Smith said: “Covid-19 caused us chaos last year and we were only able to run two of the Clip n Climb events and none of the riverside activities. Then the planned Autumn of Fun was cancelled as we were all in lockdown. Fortunately the funding from last year is still available together with funds from the Rotary clubs and ourselves. We feel it is important especially this year to arrange a community event for kids and parents to have a well being break from each other if even only for an hour or two.”

There will Clip n Climb wall sessions on August 3rd, 12th and 18th from 2pm to 3pm which must be pre-booked at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/ilkley-youth-and-community-association-33991602205 or call 01943 608234.

The sessions are free for Ilkley youngsters aged four to 16. Social distancing will apply with only 25 people per session. Arrive 20 minutes early in t-shirt and trainers with parents to sign a consent form on the day.

The sessions are funded by rotary clubs of Ilkley, Ilkley Town Council and IYCA .

Bradford Youth Service will also be running sports activities at East Holmes Field in Ilkley with sponsorship from IYCA.

Sessions which are available for children aged four to 16 include cricket, football, rounders, fire pit, bikes, advice and arts.

These sessions will take place on each Saturday and Sunday throughout August between 1.30pm to 4pm and children can just turn up.
