A ZOOM murder mystery play raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

GUISELEY residents Julie Hipkin and Carol Davis, both members of the Women's organisations Soroptimist International of Bingley and the Inner Wheel Club of Aireborough, challenged their club colleagues to help raise funds during lockdown by performing the play.

Julie and Carol devised the play, written specifically for an all-women cast, during February and March 2021. Having received support from the clubs they set about casting the acting parts and performed to audiences on two evenings with different casts.

SI Bingley raised funds for Toilet Twinning, which helps bring basic sanitation to some of poorest places in the world. Six toilets were twinned around the Bingley area, with the help of the local community, whilst the Inner Wheel club raised funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. A total of £560 was raised.
