CHILDREN at Sacred Heart School in Ilkley took part in special Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Pupils ran the dedicated course around the school grounds dressed in bright colours or as an icon of their choice.
From Lady Gaga to Lionel Messi, participants competed for a range of prizes.
Race organiser, Matt Gibson from Sacred Heart School said: “The event far exceeded our expectations.
“We totally smashed our target and the children and staff had a great day - the atmosphere was amazing.
“As well as raising a phenomenal £5k, we wanted to promote positive health and wellbeing and just organise something fun for the children.
“A huge thank you to our school community and our main sponsor Mortgage Advice Bureau Ilkley.”
The Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s biggest series of fundraising events. Started more than 25 years, it has raised £500 million towards beating cancer.
