NINE oxygen concentrators have been handed over hospitals and a nursing home in India thanks to an appeal by Aireborough Rotary.
The five and ten litre concentrators were donated to four hospitals - the Salvation Army Catherine Booth in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, the Kotagiri Holy Family Mission in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, the Arani St. Thomas in Chetpet, Chennai and the Sir Ivan Steadeford in Ambattur, Tamil Nadu - as well as the Anandam Nursing Home in Chennai.
The Aireborough club said it was immensely grateful to the 23 District Rotary Clubs who donated as well as the ten individuals who made personal donations. Rotarians in Aireborough have been working with the Rotary Club of Madras Chennapatna to provide urgent help. Madras Chennapatna Rotary felt that Chennai itself was receiving many donations so decided to identify hospitals in interior Tamil Nadu where infections were rising and the need was acute.
