ON Saturday, October 30 the Winter Garden, Ilkley, will be the venue for a charity event to raise money for the Stroke Association and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The Halloween charity event is being organised in memory of Ilkley resident, Paul Shaw who passed away on May 16, 2020 following a stroke.

Paul was an active and passionate member of many Wharfedale organisations, such as the Ilkley, Guiseley and Menston Art Clubs, kept an allotment on Leeds Road and was a very keen gardener; he was thrilled to have won the Private House Garden award in Ilkley in Bloom 2015 competition.

The event will be a new experience for Ilkley. It is a spooky ‘silent’ disco, suitable for all ages, where four different music choices will be played through headphones continuously throughout the night.

The food is being provided by Ilkley’s very own Café 39 on the Grove. The event also has a licensed bar.

All money raised through ticket sales and associated fundraising will go to the chosen charities.

The Stroke Association provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to five million people across the whole of Yorkshire.

Tickets for the Spooky Silent Disco are £15 per adult and £10 for under 12s and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.co.uk , just search ‘Spooky Silent Disco’ or contact James Wood on 01943 604040.
