THE family behind the Addingham Clue Trail were surprised and delighted by the success of their February half term lockdown project which raised over £500 for Jaime’s Journey.

“Not only has it been great to support a wonderful local family,” said Helen Brooks, the driving force behind Clue Trails, “but the feedback has been truly heart-warming. We’ve heard a number of stories from people who have had a real mental health boost after completing our little challenge. It has given people of all ages a lift during lockdown - we’ve heard from families with young children right through to people in their eighties.”

After that feedback, Helen, along with her husband Tim and boys Robert, eight and Olly, seven, couldn’t resist continuing the Clue Trails series with editions in both Ilkley and Otley.

“We want to give people a way to have fun exploring the local area as lockdown restrictions are eased,” says Tim. “Clue Trails are an opportunity to discover new aspects of places you thought you knew. They test your observational skills, puzzle-solving ability and lateral thinking during a two hour walk around local landmarks. Plus they’re ideal to do in small groups of up to six people.”

Each trail sold will continue to support Jaime’s Journey, which is raising money to support Jaime Lunn after he was paralysed in a biking accident on Ilkley Moor. All three trails are available to buy online at www.cluetrails.co.uk with the Ilkley Clue Trail also available at La Stazione and Addingham Newsagents.
