BRINGING together plants, shopping, dining and wellness in an inspiring lifestyle experience, Moss & Moor is a new independent family owned garden centre now open on Coutances Way in Ilkley.
A spokesperson for Moss & Moor said: “At the heart of Moss & Moor’s business is a mission to ‘Live Well, Eat Well, Grow’. Moss & Moor looks forward to being part of the local community and becoming a friendly destination for people to come together and to be inspired in many ways. Visitors will have an uplifting experience worth sharing and coming back for.
“To maximise the health and wellbeing benefits of gardening, visitors can look forward to browsing a great range of top-quality plants in our Potting Shed with a team of friendly plant experts and horticulturist always on hand to help. A range of peat free and organic composts are stocked and Moss & Moor is supporting Ilkley Climate Action Group to educate customers of the choices available. A conscious decision has been made to work with British growers in order to reduce distribution and logistical miles and associated carbon footprint.
“There is a very large home and garden lifestyle shop with a beautifully curated range to inspire the creation of great indoor/outdoor living spaces for now and the future. From hanging chairs to giant planters, there’s plenty of options – just in time for spring and the, hopeful, lift of lockdown restrictions.
“In terms of dining - in time – Moss and Moor will have a 200 seat restaurant offering healthy, hearty nourishing dining served over breakfast, brunch and lunch. It will be a space for people to meet together amongst the beauty of plants in a relaxed and inspirational space with the stunning backdrop of Ilkley Moor. Afternoon tea will also be available and hearty roasts on a Sunday lunch once fully open. Currently, there is a takeaway menu on offer including the provision of coffees, teas and wonderful local baked goods. The Terrace opens on April 12 (subject to Government guidelines) which will accommodate 30-40 covers on a delightful outdoor patio against the stunning backdrop of the Cow & Calf Rocks. Moss & Moor also offers a wonderful giftware store with a huge variety of gorgeous gifts, homeware, cards and books.”
A ‘Spotlight on Yorkshire’ gallery will showcase local artists and the Food Hall is stocked with local and independent suppliers’ goodies – jams, chutneys, baked goods, premium wine and spirits, and deli products. Workshops in support of wellbeing initiatives will be introduced ahead of Christmas to offer inspiration and a chance to meet fellow enthusiasts with a full programme planned for 2022.
Moss & Moor’s co-founder Louise Miller said: “We very much look forward to getting to know our local communities and hope we can inspire them with our feel-good vibes and great range of quality plants, shopping and dining that we we have on offer.”
