NEIL Makin is one of the artists currently showing his work at Gallery At The Art Shop in Ilkley.
Neil likes to paint ‘plein air’ using watercolour. The image published here shows him painting at Bolton Abbey last summer.
His current project is painting scenes of Wharfedale, so as the lockdown situation changes, you may well come across him at his work.
Painting has become a welcome diversion after a career in teaching, to the point where teaching is now part time to allow for more painting.
Works by Mike Ingram can also be viewed.
The West Coast of Scotland and Northumberland coast, are just a couple of the locations depicted. Originally starting with oils, Mike also paints with acrylic, watercolour and pastel.
The exhibition in Hawksworth Street, Ilkley continues until Saturday, May 1.
The Gallery along with The Art Shop will be welcoming customers old and new from Monday, April 12.
In the meantime the shop and gallery can be contacted by phone 01943 609031, or email ilkley@theartshops.co.uk to arrange click and collect.
