ILKLEY Open Market welcomes a new trader this spring, Gluten Freekz based in Wharfedale, who specialise in handcrafted, all gluten free pastries, sweet treats, rustic ready meals all using locally sourced fresh produce and ingredients.

The family-owned business is run by Trisha and Mark Powell who have been selling their range of products at farmers markets across West Yorkshire since 2015.

Trisha has a background in professional catering management and has used her culinary expertise in food preparation to produce a range of specialist gluten free products made from local ingredients to cater for a wide variety of dietary needs including dairy free, vegan and nut free.

The Ilkley Open Market which has a range of specialist stalls including cheese, sausage rolls, cakes, sweet and savoury tarts, chocolate brownies, coffee, pies and fruit and vegetables takes place every Saturday on The Grove in Ilkley town centre.

Local shoppers can also enjoy the convenience of a local delivery and click & collect service and an online shop at www.glutenfreekz.co.uk/

Owner, Trisha Powell said: "We want to offer people an alternative to what they can find on the supermarket shelves. It’s particularly difficult for people diagnosed with Coeliac to enjoy a healthy and varied diet with limited product and over processed offering on the shelf. We give you the choice to eat delicious food which is healthy and nutritious for the whole family, so even if you have special dietary requirements, all can enjoy the same meal."

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport said: “It’s fantastic news to have another new trader at our recently relaunched Ilkley Open Market, which is going from strength to strength. A new product offer always helps us to diversify the range available in our markets and encourages more local shoppers to visit.”
