NEWSPAPERS remained piled up outside WH Smith on The Grove in Ilkley on Sunday morning as the shop was unable to open due to an attempted break-in.
Ilkley resident Mike Ridgway took this photograph at 10.30am on Sunday, February 21.
He said: “Obviously it shows damage to the premises There were two police vehicles in attendance and the shop was shut.”
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “At 7.54am on Sunday (21 February) police were called to reports of a break in at W H Smiths, The Grove, Ilkley.
“Officers attended and found the front window smashed. Enquiries are ongoing.”
WH Smith was approached for comment but had not responded at the time of publication.
