MOORFIELD School in Ilkley rising to the challenge of lockdown.
The nursery is open as usual and they have welcomed all other year groups back via remote lessons.
Live lessons throughout the day are supported with ‘drop in’ sessions where children have access to their teacher during independent task time. Marking, assessment and feedback are all part of the normal day.
Children are also enjoying live baking sessions, PE lessons led by head of sport, music and art lessons and philosophy. They also have weekly choir lessons delivered by the resident choir masters and music teachers.
Head teacher Mrs Tina Herbert said: “All the families are doing so well with their remote learning, always joining the live lessons with positivity and enthusiasm.
“We say ‘families’ because it’s not just the children getting involved with the learning!”
