A SKIPTON man who used cannabis to ease his dental pain has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Charlie Knights, 22, of Shortbank Road, was approached by police while parked on Skipton High Street at around 10pm on July 17 last year.
Officers found a quantity of cannabis in his possession. He admitted to magistrates to two charges of possession of the drug and drug-driving.
Defending, John Mewies said Knights was not an habitual user but required four tooth extractions and was anxious because of a blood disorder which prevents his blood from clotting. The cannabis was for medical purposes.
Knights was ordered to pay a fine of £226, a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. There was no separate penalty issued for possession.
