TWO Carleton bookworms have set themselves a readhathon task in a bid to help save the planet.
Rosa Booth, 8, and her sister Annie, 5, will be reading 10 books in 10 weeks to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society.
The girls’ mum, Claire Rubery said: “They want to do their bit to save the planet’s oceans and seas by raising money. Rosa came up with the Idea and Annie plans to support her by reading her own phonics books in support.”
Rose added: “I’m a junior member of the Marine Conservation Society and I think it’s important to do my bit to help save the oceans and seas from the threats they face. Help is needed to protect species, ecosystems, to help keep the climate safe and for the health of ourselves and people in the future. We can all do our part to help.”
The sisters have had a JustGiving page set up for people to make a donation while they read through their books. The girls set a target of £200 and have already passed it. To donate go to: https://bit.ly/2LyHgt3
