GUIDE Leaders and Brownies lined the pavement outside Christchurch to salute a funeral cortège as it passed on the morning of Tuesday, December 29, on the way to St Margaret’s Church in Ilkley.
Angela Halton who died just before Christmas had been a Leader for more than 30 years, latterly, until her retirement, as Brown Owl to 3rd Ilkley Brownie Unit which meets at Christchurch.
When failing eyesight caused her to give up her activity with Brownies, she kept in touch by regularly bringing her Guide Dog to meetings for the girls to learn about the valuable work they do.
It is her family’s wish that any donations in memory of Angela should go to support WYNCHES which is the local Girlguiding Activity Centre based at Burley Woodhead.
