HAWORTH and Long Lee could be playing a bigger part in the Upper Airedale Junior Cricket Association in 2021.
The association's end-of-season meeting, held by Zoom, heard that both clubs had reported increased junior participation, despite little effort in terms of recruitment.
It was expected last winter that 61 teams would take part in the UAJCA in 2020.
However, worries over Covid-19 reduced that to 47 during the eight-week season, with cup matches providing competitive action among the friendlies.
The YCB and ECB could well help in terms of junior recruitment in 2021, and plans are being laid for a full season, with cup finals set for June 27 and July 4 and a festival scheduled for June 20.
It is also hoped that there will be a ten-week winter academy, with the courses split equally between Sandylands Sports Centre and South Craven School.
The association, which is expected to make a profit of around £400, have scheduled their annual meeting for Thursday, January 28 (7.30), hopefully at Sutton Cricket Club.
